Overview

Pentax's 16x50 S-Series SP Binocular features large oversized fully multicoated 50mm objectives to reduce reflection and maximize light transmission through the entire optical path. Utilizing the traditional porro prism configuration gives scenes a rich depth of view for an immersive observation experience and provides a comfortable feel in the hand with a lot of surface area to maintain a sure grip. The large objectives and coatings maximize the amount of light getting to the user's eyes for exceptional low-light capabilities, and its high 16x magnification provides an immersive observation experience whether users are bird watching or comet hunting.

Exceptional quality meets high-end expectations.

Large objective lenses incorporated in the design allow for contrast-rich, bright viewing under all light conditions.

Premium multi-layer coatings assure the maximum light transmission through the binocular. The result is bright, crisp, true-to-life images in the widest range of viewing conditions.

Rigid body construction makes these binoculars extremely rugged to maintain optical alignment. This ensures comfortable viewing throughout the life of the product.

PANTEX SP 16×50 Binocular performance review.

In the following points the Binocular is excellent---
1. Crystal clear image in day light and in Night sky view provided weather is good.
2. Handy and easy to carry.
3. Fully multicoated lens to filter light to avoid reflection and unnecessary glaring.
4. Magnification is good. Enough to have a close view up to any distance.
5. Focus adjustable knobs are very smooth moving . So knob movements are easy for getting clear focuses.
6. Good carrying straps.
7. Elegant look .
8. Well insulated covering.
Discomforting points ---
1. Considerably heavy and causing hands to get tired while long holding for an object to see.
2. Image Shaking problem while hand hold use. So a robust tripod is needed for a still view.
3.Eye relief caps are not of adequate size to give full protection against side light rays. A bit bigger rubber caps would work better for a distinct vision especially in night viewing.
4. Focussing adjustment greatly varries with object distances . So skill hand is expected for sharp adjustment. User should be duely skilled.
5. High chromatic aberration causes colouring effects at the edges of the image especially at the boundary area of the Objective lenses.
6. A tripod adaptor might have been supplied free within the package as the cost is considerable enough to include this.
Above all I like to appreciate this as a quality product. Thank you.
